Description

Rapid growth in the number of new DNP programs has led to an influx of students seeking this graduate degree. As students begin their educational journey, it is important to identify the barriers that hinder successful completion of a DNP degree. Dr. Cari Simpson is an Associate Professor at Chamberlain College of Nursing. She is faculty member on the Pre-licensure Online Education team and course leader of NR449 Evidence Based Practice. Dr. Simpson has been a nurse educator since 2005, teaching both campus and online settings. Dr. Simpson is passionate about the benefits of the DNP in academia and presented “The Value of the DNP in Nursing Education”, a poster, at the 2015 Sigma Theta Tau National Convention in Las Vegas. [Cari's other events] Dr. Zybell has been faculty at Chamberlain College of Nursing in both the RN-BSN and Pre-licensure programs since 2008. She has progressed in her ranking from Visiting Professor, Adjunct Professor, Instructor, and Faculty Manager to her most current role of Associate Dean of Faculty. Fulfilling her passion to teach, Dr. Zybell remains active in her role as an adjunct professor teaching both RNBSN and Pre-licensure students. Dr. Zybell has published and presented on the topics of remote faculty mentoring. Her research focus is on faculty mentoring, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student and faculty success, and pediatric sepsis. [Tammy's other events]
