John Paguntalan PhD APRN-BC

Dr. Paguntalan has more than 15 years of critical care nursing experience both as a staff nurse and clinical nurse specialist. He first received his CCRN in 1999 and recently passed the CCRN-K exam in February 2017. A member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and American Association of Critical Care Nurses, he has lectured locally and nationally on various topics to various audience. He completed his PhD from Medical University of South Carolina in 2015 and is a published author of several peer-reviewed research articles. Named 2015 Upstate AHEC Outstanding Educator of the Year, he uses simple language and relatable real life experiences to explain complex themes and concepts in a manner that students can understand.
