Description

Diabetes mellitus can be a complex disease in both dogs and cats. Clients often don't understand the complexity of the disease and team members can become frustrated with case management. Understanding the pathophysiology in each species will aid in diagnosis and will help structure successful management and treatment protocols.

Pet owners play an important role and the level of educational services provided by the practice directly affects client compliance. When the entire team is trained, team members can contribute to client education, answering questions quickly and accurately, increasing client confidence in the practice.

This course is one of a series of courses addressing diabetes mellitus provided though the generous support of Merck Animal Health. It is recommended that the courses be taken in the following order (clicking on the course title will take you to the catalog page for the course): Diabetes Mellitus in Dogs and Cats An Overview of Vetsulin
