As in intro to interceptive ortho this was adequate. I am a pediatric dentist so this was very basic review of understood concepts.

Described as an educational entertainer, Gerry Samson completed pediatric dental residency at Emory University in 1979 under the direction of Dr. Ed Hibbard and orthodontics at Northwestern University in 1981 under the direction of Dr. Hal Perry. Since 1981, Gerry is in private orthodontic practice and is a Diplomat of The American Board of Orthodontics and a Fellow of The American College of Dentists. In addition to orthodontic private practice, Dr. Samson is an Adjunct Professor at The University of Texas at San Antonio, Associate Professor at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, at Case Western University Department of Orthodontics, and at St. Louis University Department of Orthodontics. He is visiting lecturer for orthodontic post-graduate programs at 6 universities. In addition, Gerry reviews orthodontic mechanics articles submitted for publication to American Journal of Orthodontics and The Angle Orthodontist and was co-guest editor of Seminars in Orthodontics, March and June, 2014 “Age Appropriate Orthodontics”, co-author of Seminars in Orthodontics, December, 2019 Corporate Dentistry, Corporate Orthodontics: History, Reality and Strategic Planning and author of the orthodontics mechanics chapter in the 2016 reference text book by Wiley Publications, “Recognizing and Correcting Developing Malocclusions: A Problem-Oriented Approaches to Orthodontics” – Prof. Eustáquio A. Araújo, Prof. Peter H. Buschang. Dr. Samson was co-principal investigator in studying the Psychological Aspects of Orthodontic Patient Compliance, funded by The National Institute of Health- Division of Behavioral Medicine.

For 39 years he maintained private practice of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics in Marietta, Georgia. Because of his special interest in the clinical modification of dentofacial development, Dr. Samson's private practice was essentially limited to "growing" patients. His engaging, entertaining and evidence based style have made him one of today’s most popular educators.

Gerry offers meaty clinical presentations spiced with a blend of biting wit, edgy humor, and substantially sauced with evidenced based literature.
