Description

Dr. Chumley will present the state of current research and practice relating to the overlap of substance use disorders (SUDs) and perinatal health. Topics will include effects of drugs of abuse on gestational health, as well as the relative safety and efficacy of medications used to treat SUDs during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Participants may earn 1.0 Lamaze Contact Hour and 1.20 CABRN Contact Hours for viewing the webinar and passing the course quiz.

Breck Chumley, MD is a board-certified addiction psychiatrist working at Temple University Hospital System in Philadelphia, PA. His academic interests include bioethics, especially in research ethics and health equity. His current practice focuses in emergency psychiatry and outpatient treatment of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. Prior to his current position, Dr. Chumley worked as medical director for a long-term residential rehabilitation facility for pregnant and parenting women recovering from substance use disorders.
