Elastics: on completion of the elastics video the clinician will understand:
Elastics can only be used with working wires. Different types of elastics including, Hippo, Rhino and Chimpanzee elastics will be demonstrated to treat Class II, Class III malocclusions and erupt teeth to close anterior and posterior open bites. Cross elastics can also be used to correct teeth that have posterior crossbites.

There are basically 2 types of ligature ties for engaging the archwire into the bracket slot:
a) Elastics ligature ties (Safe-T-Ties)
b) Stainless steel ligature ties
Single tie stainless steel – slight rotation
Double tie stainless steel – severe rotations.
