This session looks at how things can go wrong in medical practice and uses a case study of a drug error to address the principal steps to take when dealing with a medical error.

Matthew Bowles is a Consultant Hepato-biliary Surgeon at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. Prior to September 2009 he was Clinical Director for Surgery and Foundation Training Programme Director at King’s College Hospital in London. His interests are liver surgery, general surgery, teaching, training and medical management.
