Description

This session introduces normal development in adolescents in key biological, psychological and social domains, and the impact of these upon their health and illness. The importance of psychosocial development for long-term condition self-management and concordance is also discussed.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:

Russell Viner is Reader in Adolescent Medicine at the UCL Institute of Child Health, and Consultant in Adolescent Medicine & Endocrinology at UCL Hospitals and Great Ormond St Hospital London. He has extensive clinical and research interests in adolescent medicine, diabetes and obesity, and has worked as a consultant on adolescent health for the Department of Health and the World Health Organisation.
