This session addresses the incidental ECG finding of a Brugada pattern. It includes the identification of ECG abnormalities, the implications of the finding and how to manage the patient.


By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Identify the Brugada ECG pattern
• State the clinical implications of the ECG findings
• List the principles of management and investigation for a patient in the context of these incidental ECG findings
• Explain the management of the Brugada patient in general

Kim Rajappan

Kim completed General Cardiology training, (subspecialty training in cardiac electrophysiology and device therapy) at the Hammersmith Hospital and St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London. He is now a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Research and clinical interests include all aspects of cardiac arrhythmia management in patients with both congenital arrhythmia, and with catheter ablation of complex cardiac arrhythmias particularly atrial fibrillation.
