Description

This session looks at death rattle; what causes it, how to treat the symptoms, as well as an integrated approach to managing patients with death rattle and its impact on those close to them. This session was reviewed by Richard Hillier and Christina Faull and last updated in December 2014.

Dr Richard Hillier was a Consultant and Senior Lecturer in Palliative Medicine in Southampton for 27 years. He had responsibility for 25 beds, the hospital team, a large community team and helped develop education and research in palliative medicine.
