Description

This session describes the most common methods by which O2, CO2 and anaesthetic agents are monitored during anaesthesia. It also covers the clinical applications of gas monitoring and the simple principles of anaesthetic gas sampling for measurement and monitoring.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Describe how O2, CO2 and anaesthetic agents are usually monitored during anaesthesia
• Describe and apply the clinical applications of gas monitoring
• Describe and list the simple principles of sampling
