Description

This session describes how to perform the transfer of a patient from theatre to recovery safely, and explains the responsibilities of the anaesthetist for the handover to recovery staff.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Describe when it is safe to transfer the patient from theatre
• Employ a logical system for the formal handover of the patient to recovery staff
• Recognize when it is safe to leave a patient in recovery
