Description

In this session you will learn about the classification of cardiomyopathy. The typical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) appearances are presented.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Differentiate between the types of cardiomyopathy
• Identify the typical appearances of each type of cardiomyopathy
• State the role of echocardiography and MRI in the investigation of these disease processes

Stephen is a Consultant in Cardiothoracic Radiology at Southampton University Hospitals. He trained in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging at the German Heart Institute in Berlin and in cardiac computed tomography in Erlangen, Germany. He has been module editor of the 1a Cardiac module of R-ITI since July 2009.
