This session covers the common causes of major obstetric haemorrhage and its management including that of patients with placenta praevia and placenta accreta.

Sarah Cross

Sarah went to Edinburgh Medical School and trained in SE Scotland where she is now a less-than-full-time (LTFT) trainee.

She has a special interest in both obstetric anaesthesia and airway anaesthesia.

She has been involved in writing undergraduate online tutorials, undergraduate lectures and Special Study Modules, Primary and Final FRCA preparation courses and organises the Trainees’ Meeting of the Scottish Society of Anaesthetists.

Vicki Clark
Consultant Anaesthetist, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh

Vicki was born in Guyana, South America and went to Edinburgh University Medical School. She trained in both Glasgow and Edinburgh and is now a Consultant Anaesthetist in the Simpson Centre for Reproductive Health, Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh.

She has a special interest in Obstetric Anaesthesia and has served on the committee of the Obstetric Anaesthetists’ Association. She is an enthusiast for regional blockade, skills and drills training, teaching at all levels, and blood conservation including cell salvage.
