Description

This session identifies the agents capable of causing chemical burns and describes the local tissue damage and systemic injuries that may occur as a result of exposure to each agent.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Name the agents capable of causing a chemical burn
• Describe the local pathological processes involved in chemical burns
• Describe the systemic effects of those chemicals causing toxicity

Richard is a clinical research fellow in Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit, Glasgow Royal Infirmary and is studying for a MSc at the University of Oxford.


Ian is the Clinical Director at the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit, Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

He is also an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons Intercollegiate Board of Plastic Surgery.
