Description

This session will look at the normal appearances of a chest radiograph. It will cover the radiological anatomy, use of a search strategy, common radiographic abnormalities and normal variants.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Identify the anatomy of the chest on a radiograph
• Develop a search strategy when examining chest radiographs
• Use the silhouette sign to locate abnormalities within the thorax
• Recognise common normal variants that may simulate disease

Clinical Academic Reporting Radiographer, Homerton University Hospital, London, Canterbury Christ Church University, Kent

Dr Nick Woznitza is a clinical academic radiographer with joint appointments at Homerton University Hospital and Canterbury Christ Church University. Nick is one of a team of reporting radiographers that provides a significant contribution to diagnostic capacity. The focus of his research is on radiographer reporting and pathway redesign.

He is an accredited consultant radiographer with the College of Radiographers. He was the winner of the Practice Innovators and overall prize of the Chief Allied Health Professions Officer Awards (CAHPO) 2017.
