Pawan Kumar and Justiaan Swanevelder

Pawan Kumar -
ST 6 on the East Midlands rotation
Pawan graduated from Stanley Medical College, Chennai, India in 2001.
After his graduation he worked in orthopaedics for a year before choosing a career in Anaesthesia.
Pawan is involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.

Justiaan Swanevelder -
Justiaan Swanevelder is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Glenfield Hospital, in Leicester.
His undergraduate and postgraduate training was in Cape Town, South Africa before he moved to Leicester in 1995 to take up position of Consultant Anaesthetist, specialising in Adult and Paediatric Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and Intensive Care.
He is involved in medical education at all levels from undergraduate to teaching anaesthetic trainees, as well as post-fellowship Fellows in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia.
Justiaan’s research and educational interests are cardiovascular physiology and perioperative transoesophageal echocardiography, and its application to improve patient outcome. Justiaan is an examiner for the Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, and Director of the Glenfield Hospital Perioperative Transoesophageal Echocardiography Course.
