Consultant Anaesthetist and Director of Day Surgery
Dr Mary E Stocker MA, MBChB, FRCA
completed a chemistry degree at Oxford University, including research into novel approaches towards drug design. She then worked in the pharmaceutical industry with Professor Sir James Black as a research chemist synthesizing compounds of potential pharmaceutical interest. In 1990 she turned her hand to medicine and undertook a medical degree at Bristol University, her anaesthetic training was mainly undertaken in the South West of England with a year as an Associate Professor of Anaesthesiology at the University of Virginia, USA. She now works in Torbay as a Consultant Anaesthetist and Director of Day Surgery.
