David Baker
on behalf of Health Education England

Dr D J Baker MPhil DM FRCA FRSM was born in London and studied medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. After qualification he served as a medical officer in the Royal Navy for nearly 20 years specializing in anaesthesia. In 1992 David Baker moved to France where he has worked as a consultant in anaesthesia for the Paris emergency medical service (SAMU) at the Necker University Hospital, specializing in the management of mass toxic incidents. From 2004 he has also worked as a consultant medical toxicologist for the Chemical Hazards and Poisons Division of the Health Protection Agency. Since 2005 he has lectured as a visiting professor in anesthesiology at the University of Harvard.
David has lectured in over 40 countries around the world and is the author of numerous journal articles, monographs and textbook chapters.
