This session describes clinical scenarios involving patients with complex medical and ethical problems relating to consent, which clinicians will find challenging.

• Recognise when to involve mental health or more experienced personnel

Ginny Wright -
Consultant in elderly medicine at Imperial NHS Healthcare Trust
Dr Ginny Wright has been a full time consultant physician with an interest in elderly medicine for over 20 years, and is currently working at Imperial NHS Healthcare Trust. She is a Medical Ethics and Law tutor at Imperial College and has a particular interest in the prevention of abuse and exploitation of vulnerable adults.

Binita Jani -
Consultant Physician, Medicine for the Elderly
Binita is a consultant geriatrician based at Imperial College NHS Trust for the last 4 years (2010). Binita runs the older people’s assessment and liaison service (OPAL) at Hammersmith Hospital. Her specialist interests are vascular compliance, safeguarding adults and delirium. Binita is involved in SpR training and is the Training Programme Director for Geriatrics in NW Thames.
