Description

This session introduces the anatomy of the female and male reproductive systems, describes the physiology of the female reproductive cycle and the physiology of sexual intercourse.

Janice Burnett -
Nurse Consultant in Sexual Health


Shelley Raine -
Shelley is a nurse specialist in contraception and Lead Nurse for the Sexual Health Service in East Berkshire where she has worked in clinics and general practice since 1980. A past Chair of the RCN Family Planning and Sexual Health forums she has contributed to a number of projects nationally including the Crown Review of Prescribing, the Sexual Health Strategy and the NICE Guidelines on Long Acting Reversible Contraception. She was one of the first nurses in the UK to fit and remove implants and developed the original nurse training guidelines for insertion and removal.


Martin Talbot -
Martin Talbot is a Consultant in Genito-urinary Medicine/HIV at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, Honorary Reader in Medical Education at Sheffield University and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He is an external examiner for the MFSRH examination.
Until recently, he was the author of the HIV chapter in Clinical Evidence and has published widely in the fields of sexual health, epidemiology, clinical GUMedicine/HIV and medical education. He enjoys teaching and holds master’s degrees in general and medical education.
