David Partlow
Clinical Development Manager with South Western Ambulance.

I am a Paramedic and Emergency Care Practitioner and have been in the ambulance service for 17 1/2 years.
I have a BSc (Hons) in Health Studies from Plymouth University, a BSc. (Hons) in Emergency and Urgent care Practice from Bournemouth University and a PGCE from Canterbury Christ Church University.

As Clinical Development Manager with South Western Ambulance Service, I am part of a small team who are responsible for the clinical delivery of pre-hospital urgent and emergency care. The role includes developing clinical pathways and guidance for operational staff to ensure patients receive the appropriate care, in the right place at the right time and by the clinician best placed to deliver it. We work to ensure that the ambulance service is engaged with other partners in health and social care to integrate services, reduce duplication and ensure that pathways are available for ambulance staff to reduce any inappropriate admissions. I am also responsible for the management of Infection Prevention and Control within the Trust.
