Description

This session will describe the clinical features associated with fractures of the orbital floor and offer guidance on how to assess and investigate such injuries. Later, it will explore the role of surgery and how to avoid, recognise and treat complications.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Describe the clinical features of fractures of the orbital floor
• Explain the investigations required for a suspected fracture of the orbital floor
• List the indications for surgery
• Describe the range of procedures available for repair of orbital floor fractures
• Describe how to avoid, recognise and treat the complications of each

Bill trained on the Oxford registrar rotation and is currently working as a microsurgery fellow at Toronto General and Mount Sinai Hospital.
