Description

This session provides a detailed account of the pathophysiology of the capsule that forms around breast implants and a review of the current theories about the aetiology of capsular contracture and the principles of management.

Saif Ramman -
Plastic Surgery Core Trainee

Saif is a plastic surgery core trainee in the North Western Deanery. He has an interest in management and leadership and is one of the operational leads for the North West Medical Leadership School. He is currently undertaking a masters degree by researching occult malignant melanoma in wide local excision specimens.

Pari-Naz Mohanna -
Consultant Plastic Surgeon

Ms Mohanna is a consultant plastic surgeon at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals. Her specialist interest is microsurgical reconstruction and she has a great passion for teaching and training. She set up the Microsurgical training facility at St. Thomas Hospital and regularly visits hospitals in Iran to train medical students and doctors.
