Description

Coarctation of the aorta is a congenital abnormality, which may occur on its own or be associated with other congenital abnormalities, most commonly in the heart. This session will give an overview of the subject including the salient findings that may be encountered on a variety of imaging modalities.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Explain the different varieties of coarctation and their clinical presentations
• Describe the role of imaging in the diagnosis and management of coarctation in particular the follow-up of patients who have had coarctation repairs in earlier life
