This session covers the relevant anatomy of the airway and its appearance on radiological images, and correlation to the associated axial anatomy.


By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Identify the relevant anatomy on posteroanterior (PA) and lateral chest radiographs (CXR) and correlate this to the associated axial anatomy
• Explain the structural differences between the various generations of airways and the resulting difference in function

Consultant Radiologist and Clinical Lead for the R-ITI programme

Stephen is currently Lead Thoracic Radiologist at Barts and the London NHS Trust and is based at the London Chest Hospital. In July 2009 he became Module Editor of the 1b Thoracic-Respiratory module of the Radiology Integrated Training Initiative (R-ITI) and is currently Clinical Lead for the R-ITI programme.
