Description

A description of degenerative disc disease involving the spine with further details of discography and intradiscal electrothermal therapy (IDET).

Objectives

By the end of this session you should be able to:
• Identify the pathological process of disc degeneration and associated end plate changes
• Explain the complications that may arise from degenerative disc disease including spinal stenosis and intervertebral foramina stenosis
• Describe the interventional techniques used in the diagnosis of intervertebral disc disease including provocative discography and intradiscal electrothermal therapy (IDET)
