In this session, we will review benign colon tumours and consider the key investigations to help you identify the characteristic appearances of the different pathologies.


By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Describe the pathogenesis and variety of benign neoplastic diseases of the colon
• Discuss the role of imaging in these conditions
• Identify the characteristic appearances of these diseases using barium studies and computed tomography (CT)
• Form a differential diagnosis

Adel Abdellaoui -
Adel Abdellaoui is a Radiology Specialist Registrar at Peninsula Radiology Academy in Plymouth.

Bruce Fox -
Head of Training at Plymouth Trust

Bruce Fox is Head of Training in Plymouth and has been heavily involved in the Peninsula R-ITI Academy project both locally and nationally since its inception. He has an interest in medical education and has coordinated the development of the radiology curriculum for the Peninsula Medical School, where he is also Clinical Fellow. He was module editor for Module 3 Gastro-Intestinal in the Radiology Integrated Training Initiative (R-ITI) e-learning project for 4 years, and then an assistant editor to the project.
