Description

This session covers the radiological features of diseases of the appendix. Features on both conventional and recent imaging modalities are discussed.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Direct the investigation of common appendiceal pathology based on your understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of common imaging modalities
• Provide a differential diagnosis in a multidisciplinary team (MDT) setting with the use of clinical and radiological data

Kani is a Radiology Registrar at the Peninsula Radiology Academy.


Bruce Fox -
Head of Training at Plymouth Trust
Bruce Fox is Head of Training in Plymouth and has been heavily involved in the Peninsula R-ITI Academy project both locally and nationally since its inception. He has an interest in medical education and has coordinated the development of the radiology curriculum for the Peninsula Medical School, where he is also Clinical Fellow. He was module editor for Module 3 Gastro-Intestinal in the Radiology Integrated Training Initiative (R-ITI) e-learning project for 4 years, and then an assistant editor to the project.
