Description

This session covers the pathology, epidemiology, presentation, staging and management of bladder cancer and looks at the different modalities that are available to the radiologist.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• List the different types of bladder cancer, their presentation and epidemiology
• Describe the role of clinical diagnosis and imaging in the management of bladder cancer
• List the advantages and disadvantages of the various different imaging modalities
• Stage bladder cancers using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

Rajesh Arumugam -
Consultant Radiologist

Rajesh Arumugam qualified from Madras Medical College in India and completed radiology training at University Hospitals of Leicester, UK. He completed his fellowship training in abdominal imaging from Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis and UCSF Medical Center, San Francisco, USA. He is a Consultant Radiologist at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust specialising in abdominal and oncological imaging. He is a keen teacher an currently the college tutor at Leicester General Hospital and the clinical lead for undergraduate education at the Leicester University Medical School.

Sreemathi Harieaswar -
Consultant Radiologist

Having trained at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, Sreemathi is a now a Consultant Radiologist there, with a specialist interest in the head and neck and neuro radiology.
