A suspected abdominal mass in a child always causes concern. There are many different causes depending on the age and sex of the child. This session aims to help the radiologist advise the paediatrician which sequence of imaging procedures are most appropriate in different circumstances.

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Define the common causes of an abdominal mass in a child
• Indicate appropriate initial imaging investigations
• After the first investigations, formulate a further imaging plan
