Description

This session will discuss the development and anatomy of the cerebral cortex and deep grey matter nuclei and the common pathologies that may affect the grey matter.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Describe the pattern of development of cortical grey matter
• Identify the anatomy of the deep grey matter nuclei
• Recognise the distribution of abnormalities seen in common groups of conditions affecting the superficial and deep grey matter
• Recognise and differentiate between the common congenital abnormalities affecting cortical grey matter
