Description

This session will introduce the importance of recognising a medulloblastoma which is the most common malignant brain tumour in childhood, the most common posterior fossa tumour in children, and also the most common primitive neuroectodermal tumour. In this session, we will cover clinical presentation, imaging findings and some relevant clinical management issues.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Describe and identify the imaging findings of medulloblastoma on computerised tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
• Differentiate medulloblastoma from other posterior fossa tumours
• Describe the need for spinal imaging for cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) dissemination
