Description

This session covers viral infections - post infectious, sequelae and opportunistic infections.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• List the central nervous system (CNS) manifestations of viral infections, such as encephalitis, meningitis, leucoencephalitis, vasculitis and infarct
• Describe the imaging features on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of encephalitis caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV), arbo virus (japanese encephalitis), measles and cruedzfeldt-jakob disease
• Detect and differentiate the features of post-infectious encephalitis and opportunistic infections
• Identify the radiological features of primary human immunodeficiency virus infection and opportunistic infections
