Description

This session describes the characteristic bone scan appearance of metabolic bone disease.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Recognise the pattern of technetium-99m methylene diphosphonate (99mTc MDP) uptake in metabolic bone disease
• Recognise when to use bone scanning for investigating metabolic bone disease
• Decide when to arrange for a complimentary radiological study

Consultant Nuclear Medicine Physician (Retired)

Linda was a Consultant Nuclear Medicine Physician in Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen University Hospitals Trust from 1989 until retirement in July 2014.

She has a specific interest in thyroid disorders and their treatment with radionuclide therapy.

Linda was Chair of Mersey and Cheshire Regional Thyroid Cancer MDT until retirement.
