Description

This session provides an understanding of basic pathology and clinical aspects.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Identify the types of congenital heart disease and their features
• Describe the features and patterns of ischaemic/congenital heart disease
• List the causes of chest pain
• List the types and complications of myocardial infarction
• Match the murmurs to the type of valvular heart disease
• Identify the different types cardiomyopathy and list their main causes

Consultant Nuclear Medicine Physician at Guys and St. Thomas NHS Foundation Trust, KCL School of Medicine

Dr Gnanasegaran qualified at the Mysore Medical College (India). He joined the Royal Free Hospital, London as a Clinical Research Fellow and completed his MSc (Kings College, London University) and MD (University College London-London University) in Nuclear Medicine. He is currently based at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. His special interests are in Nuclear Cardiology & Nuclear Oncology.
