Description

This session will describe and discuss the role of fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (18F FDG) positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET/CT) in colorectal carcinoma, using a number of clinical cases.

Objectives

By the end of this session you should be able to:
• Describe the current indications of PET/CT in the imaging of colorectal carcinoma
• Recognise the limitations and pitfalls in image interpretation in PET/CT of colorectal carcinoma
• Analyse illustrative clinical cases that highlight the role of PET/CT in the management of this important group of patients

Fahmid Chowdhury -
Dr Fahmid Chowdhury is a specialist registrar in nuclear medicine at the John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospitals in Oxford. He has research interests in hybrid imaging with SPECT/CT and PET/CT.

Fahmid has been a Module Editor for 7 Radionuclide Radiology of the Radiology Integrated Training Initiative (R-ITI) project.


Kevin Bradley -
Kevin Bradley is a Consultant in Clinical Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospitals in Oxford. He has research interests in PET/CT and cerebral SPECT. He has been the Module Editor of the 7 Radionuclide Radiology module of R-ITI since 2007.
