This session provides an introduction to the main clinical methods used for magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) including time-of-flight MRA (TOF-MRA), phase contrast MRA (PC-MRA) and contrast-enhanced MRA (CE-MRA).

By the end of this session you should be able to:
• Develop an understanding of the physics supporting the following techniques:
- Time-of-flight MRA
- Phase contrast MRA
- Contrast-enhanced MRA
• List the supporting techniques for TOF-MRA, such as tilted optimal non-saturating (or non-uniform) excitation (TONE), multiple overlapping thin slab acquisitions (MOTSA) and magnetisation transfer contrast (MTC)
• Describe how slice thickness and image resolution can affect the ability to use MRA techniques for useful diagnosis
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of radial k-space data acquisition techniques for CE-MRA
