Description

This session looks at the application of generic communications skills.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Describe the concept of rapport
• Recognise why rapport is important in dealing with patients
• Describe the skills that can be used to establish rapport
• Identify specific aspects in radiological consultations which may cause difficulty for the radiologist in establishing and developing rapport
• Develop a strategy for breaking bad news to a patient
