Description

This session builds on the normal technique and appearances discussed in 'Image Interpretation - Abdominal Ultrasound: The Liver - Session 1'. It outlines common pathology, some pitfalls in scanning the liver, and addresses the final scan report.

• Review the ultrasound appearances of common pathologies in the liver
• Describe the limitations and pitfalls of imaging the liver with ultrasound

Jane Smith
on behalf of Health Education England

Jane Smith (retired) was a consultant sonographer with the Leeds and West Yorkshire Radiology Academy and practised ultrasound for many years. Her specialist interest was gastrointestinal ultrasound, including interventional and microbubble applications.

She taught and lectured regularly throughout the UK and had numerous publications including two books in ultrasound, which continue to be popular texts.

She is a previous president of the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS) and honorary member of the Royal College of Radiologists and of BMUS.
