Description

This session considers the sonographic appearance of the elbow. It will include an overview of normal appearances and common pathology, and discuss common pitfalls to avoid. Tips on reporting will be offered.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Describe the equipment and understand the patient positioning required for high quality ultrasound imaging of the elbow
• Identify normal elbow anatomy visible on ultrasound
• Gain an appreciation for the rationale and indications for elbow sonography
• Review the ultrasound appearance of common pathologies
• Describe the limitations and pitfalls of ultrasound imaging of the elbow
• Compare your report writing style with our suggested style

Lisa Meacock -
Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist, King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Lisa currently works as a consultant radiologist at King’s College Hospital London. She has a subspecialist interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound and orthopaedic imaging; and, she teaches and lectures on ultrasound at various radiology courses.


Brathaban Rajayogeswaran -
Brathaban is currently a ST5 registrar at King’s College Hospital London, who is sub-specialising in musculoskeletal radiology. He has a particular interest in sports radiology and teaching through web based multimedia.
