Description

This session will describe and demonstrate a range of specialist projections of the upper limb/s, which are rarely requested and can therefore be unfamiliar to some radiographers.

Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• Describe a range of commonly used accessory projections of the upper limb/s
• Describe the optimal positioning of the limb/s for accessory projections
• Explain the difference between standard and accessory projections and the different images they generate
• Explain the information the accessory projections will reveal

Advanced Practitioner, Diagnostic Radiographer, City Hospitals Sunderland

Paul graduated from St. Martin’s College in 2007, and since then has worked as a Diagnostic Radiographer for City Hospitals Sunderland.

He undertook a Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Medical Imaging at The University of Salford, and has been working as an Advanced Practitioner, specialising in plain film musculoskeletal reporting, since 2014.

Paul is an author for the Image Interpretation e-learning project.
