Description

This session outlines the procedures to be followed in carrying out personal care after death. It is aimed at nurses and those who have nursing tasks delegated to them but will prove relevant to all health and social care professionals who work with people at the end of life. This session was reviewed by Susi Lind and Christina Faull, last updated in April 2015.

Susi Lund
on behalf of Health Education England

Susi is Nurse Consultant for End of Life Care and Clinical Lead for the Palliative Care Team at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in Reading. Prior to that she was Manager for Palliative and End of Life Services in Berkshire East. She has held a Research Fellowship with the University of Reading and has academic links with both Oxford Brookes and Southampton University.

Susi’s research interests focus on involvement of minority groups, utilisation of palliative care services and user representation. Susi is also Joint Lead for Development of Communication Skills Education for South Central SHA including blended learning. She has worked with the National Nurse Consultant Group (palliative care) in developing guidance for personal care after death.
