Alison Lea
on behalf of Health Education England

Alison qualified from the University of Leeds in 1999, and gained MRCGP in 2006. With an early interest in medical education, she was involved with undergraduate teaching at the Academic Unit of Primary Care at Leeds from 2006. Having gained a PGCert in Primary Care Education and an MSc in Primary Health Care, a specialist interest in clinical reasoning and decision making was developed.

In 2007, she became a principle in General Practice, and developed the practice as a learning environment and with that a move to postgraduate medical education. In 2010, she began training GP specialist trainees and took up the post of Primary Care Medical Educator for the South Manchester GP Training Programme.

Alison continues to advocate an improved understanding of decision making and the skills for shared decision making within learning and teaching.
