Dr. Joseph R. Carter

Dr. Carter attended East Tennessee State University and Logan Chiropractic College in St. Louis, MO. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in science and human anatomy. He received his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Logan College in in 1979. He also holds a Certificate in Impairment Rating from National College in Chicago, and Logan College in St. Louis. Dr. Carter received a certificate of acupuncture from Logan College in 1980.
He holds a Fellowship in the International Academy of Clinical Acupuncture, and received his Diplomate in Acupuncture Degree from Shanghai Research Institute of Acupuncture. Dr. Carter studied at the Chinese-Japan Friendship Hospital in Beijing, China, and holds a Dip. Ac. Degree from the National Commission for the Certification for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Washington, DC (NCCAOM).
Dr. Carter is the first person in South Carolina to be given permission to practice acupuncture by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners. He is on the post-graduate faculty of Logan College, and the National University of Health Sciences in Chicago.
He has been in practice for 34 years, and has served three times as Vice President of the South Carolina Chiropractic Association.
