Description

Cannabis now has legal status in 47 of 50 states in the US. Moreover, public opinion strongly supports Cannabis use. But is there therapeutic utility? In this presentation we will review the endocannabinoid system, cannabinoids effects on immune function and clinical applications in specific disorders. Potential adverse events will also be reviewed.

Objectives

The participants will be able to state the tissues, receptors and enzymes involved in the endocannabinoid system.
The participants will be able to discuss the effects of cannabinoids on T and B cells.
The participant will be able to evaluate the evidence-base on cannabinoids in multiple sclerosis, inflammatory bowel disease and rheumatic disorders.
The participant will be able to understand the potential of adverse events of cannabinoids in clinical settings.
