Description

The goal of the course is for the participant to review basic techniques regarding diagnostic imaging with an intensive review of common disease processes that are encountered in clinical practice. The basics of pathophysiology, presentation on diagnostic imaging, potential differential diagnoses, and appropriate follow up will be discussed. The course will follow a lecture/didactic format with numerous practical case studies to reinforce concepts.

Objectives

Hour 1: Introduction of course. Review of basic imaging modalities commonly used in chiropractic
Hour 2:Review on congenital/dysplastic disease of the skeleton as well as a discussion of normal variants
that simulate disease
Hour 3: Review on arthritic disease of the skeleton
Hour 4: Review of neoplastic disease of the musculoskeletal system
Hour 5: Review of blood/vascular disease and its involvement in the musculoskeletal system
Hour 6: Review of infectious disease of the musculoskeletal system
Hour 7: Review of traumatic disease of the musculoskeletal system.
Hour 8: Review of nutritional/metabolic/endocrine disease and its effects on the musculoskeletal
system
Hour 9: Review of radiographic presentations of common chest and abdominal disease
Hour 10: Follow up/question and answer period
