Description

Trans people, especially trans people of color, face high rates of discrimination, harassment, and violence in society, which results in them experiencing more negative mental and physical health outcomes than their cis counterparts. Thus, trans people are often more in need of mental and physical health care, but also encounter extensive hostility in health-care settings. This workshop will explain the factors that create this negative climate and ways to make a trans-inclusive and -supportive health-care environment.
