Description

Frame Stylist or Image Consultant? Session Five of Five.
In the final session of this course more advanced skills are introduced. A new color and contrast theory are explained as well as a process to use when working with patients to help them select new frames and eyewear. Suggestions are given for assisting patients when they struggle making a decision.

Objectives

Introduce Color and Contrast Theory
Building more advanced skills in styling we discuss the effects of frame color with hair and skin color.
Provide Frame Styling Process
Provide a step by step process for showing patients frames. Discussion includes pushing the boundaries of the frames stylist and perhaps the patient to help find more exciting and interesting eyewear.
Share Decision Process
Practical suggestions are shared on how to help a patient who struggles with making a final decision on a frame selection.

Mindi Lewis, MA, ABOC, FNAO, is an industry professional with experience from exam room and dispensing table to marketing and national account management in large corporations. She has an Associate in Science degree in Optometric Technology, Bachelors in Science in Allied Health Education and a Masters degree in Organization Development. She was an Optometric Technology Instructor at St. Petersburg College, Florida and has worked for SOLA Optical, Carl Zeiss Vision and Essilor. Mindi is currently a consultant and speaker, and Managing Editor for Jobson Medical Information's Opticians Handbook.
