I have enjoyed this powerpoint presentation because I worked in inclusion for seventeen years. I agree with all the points brought forth in this presentation. I faced every type of co-teacher possible but I never ask to be moved to another classroom.

Description

Co-teaching in secondary classrooms is effective but requires preparation to be successful. This session will provide educators with the pedagogy of co-teaching. Presentation includes research of co-teaching efficacy, the role of administration and steps for implementing co-teaching. Ms. Lambe will share first hand experiences, challenges, and methods for achieving a productive relationship. Participants will be able to evaluate the effectiveness of their co-teaching teams.

Amy Lambe has 17 years experience as an Exceptional Children's teacher in middle grades and high school. She is a National Board Certified teacher and holds a masters degree in Reading Education. Ms. Lambe currently co-teaches seventh grade language arts and math. As an EC Department Chair, Ms. Lambe has experience implementing co-teaching school wide. Ms. Lambe has led staff development about co-teaching in the secondary classroom, writing in middle grades and implementing MTSS. She serves on the Executive Board of Professional Educators of North Carolina.
